Those days when you spring out of bed and you just feel happy for no other reason than that’s how you feel.

Just noticed this in A Scandal in Belgravia, during the Christmas party when Sherlock is deducing the present in Molly’s bag for her ‘boyfriend’ and John knows straight away it’s for Sherlock and looks really sad for her.

Not only sad but terrified that Sherlock was about to rip her apart.

The fact that almost everyone’s attitude when he started talking was “shut up or I’ll toss you out the window” should have told him something. UGH HE’S SO FRUSTRATING, I HATE HIM SOMETIMES!!!

I sometimes feel bad for Sherlock in this one when I’m not cringing at the huge faux pas. He’s trying to use his deduction as a parlor trick, trying to be more like a normal person and be interested in Molly’s life. You can see it in the smile and the way he talks. And when he sees his name on the tag, you can see his mind just freeze. It’s like he doesn’t know how to apologize or why he didn’t catch that it was for him.

Do you know how hard it must be to be the smartest person in the room and never quite sure just how clueless those around you are at any given time? Like, he knows *so much*… but he can never be certain how little everyone else knows. He wasn’t trying to be an ass. He’s the sort of genius that is forced to sacrifice social skills for intellect. It’s a bit tragic really. And John’s just about the only one who sort of gets that and loves him anyway.

And I think that Sherlock was truly sincere with his apology. You can see it in his face.

This post keeps getting more insightful each time I see it—this fandom is beyond perceptive, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

And I don’t want the world to see me

‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand

When everything’s made to be broken

I just want you to know who I am
